Artists Biography

As a mature student with the Open College of the Arts and Plymouth College of Art and Design it was, perhaps, hardly surprising that some of my early work contains unconscious stylistic references to other era's of modern art. What was surprising however was a compelling affinity I found with the non traditional painting methods of DaDa and Surrealism .These methods had been avant-garde during my early life but ,due to my late entry into painting ,were a new experience to me.
Postmodernism has of course seen other stylistic references to these practices, but I have used them primarily to accommodate this idiosyncratic compulsion to pass through a missing experience and possibly find some form of platonic correlation along the way.
